Welcome
A welcome letter from Jared Swerzenski, Athletic Director
As the new Athletic Director at NCCES, I look forward to meeting students and parents. My goal as athletic director is to make the athletic experience fun, competitive, and satisfying. I’m an avid sports enthusiast and have played competitive sports until recently. I grew up in Fitchburg attending Applewild School and Cushing Academy, where I played varsity soccer, basketball, and tennis. I played four years of varsity soccer at Clark University in Worcester, where I studied communications. While at Clark I worked in the Athletic Office and ran the Intramural Department during my last two years.
I’m devoted to sports and believe in the power of athletics to shape the lives and attitudes of young men and women. Participating in sports gave me the foundation to achieve success, not just in the classroom, but in other areas of life as well.
Our focus at NCCES is on students. My goal is to enhance the sports program and make it rewarding for both students and parents. I welcome your suggestions as we work together to build the program. I also encourage students in grades 7, 8 and 9 to try out for both field hockey and soccer teams. I have added some games this year with other schools at those grade levels to give younger players ample playing time. My goal is to expand into JV and Varsity sports, but that can only work with commitment from younger students.
